This beautiful espresso maker was the first Alessi object designed for the kitchen after the 30's by Richard Sapper and is on display in the Permanent Design Collection at the MOMA in New York. Made in Italy
Customer Review: After trying everything else . . . this is the best!
Purchased my Alessi after trying several machines -- most incredibly expensive, including a pod-type machine that was breaking the bank in pods alone. Everything was complicated, NOISY, terrible to clean, and way too complicated for my husband to attempt first thing in the morning. Tried the typical aluminum pot used on many Italian stovetops. I just couldn't seem to duplicate the espresso found in better coffee shops (NOT Starbucks, mind you).
This little pot looks unobtrusive and is deceptively simple. Easy to clean, to fill, to make GREAT espresso. Mine makes only one cup but it brews so quickly and quietly -- a pleasant hissing signals completion.
